Talk Like a Dev is an online platform designed to help software developers improve their technical English communication skills through AI-powered conversations, voice practice, interview simulations, and other learning tools.

  • Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or provide false information.

4. Subscription and Payments

Free Trial

We offer a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged according to your selected plan.

Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually)
  • All payments are processed securely through Stripe
  • Prices are listed in USD and may be subject to applicable taxes
  • You authorize us to charge your payment method for all fees incurred

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to the Service until the end of your current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Transmit harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without permission
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
  • Use the AI features to generate harmful or illegal content

6. Intellectual Property

Our Content

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Talk Like a Dev and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express permission.

Your Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit through the Service (such as voice recordings during practice sessions). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process this content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

7. AI-Generated Content

Our Service uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI) to provide conversation practice and feedback. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated responses may occasionally contain errors or inaccuracies. The Service is intended for educational purposes and should not be relied upon as the sole source of language learning. We are not responsible for any decisions made based on AI-generated content.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF ANY CONTENT OR INFORMATION PROVIDED THROUGH THE SERVICE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TALK LIKE A DEV SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Talk Like a Dev, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
